Baseball caps and team branding

In the late 1800’s baseball players may have started wearing hats because men wore hats when they were outside. It was just what they did.

Today it is fashionable to wear a baseball cap. Just try and get a four-year-old to trade away his favorite cap.  It starts early.

But baseball caps perform two very important functions: they are great for shielding your eyes from the sun and they are great for team branding.
